The stems and branches of the gourd are grooved and covered with long, sticky hairs, which gradually fall off and become nearly hairless when old. The petiole is 16–20 cm long, and the leaves are ovate-cordate or kidney-ovate, with a length and width of 10–35 cm. Monoecious, both male and female flowers are solitary.
Fruit
The fruit is green at first, then turns white to yellowish, and the fruit shape varies greatly, some are dumbbell-shaped, some are flat spherical, club-shaped or structured, and the fruit peel becomes woody when mature.

Soil preparation: Choose fertile and well-drained soil and add organic fertilizer.
Seed treatment: Soak seeds in warm water for 4–6 hours, dry and sow.
